Network Line Contracts are usually based on the average of three highest half-hourly kVA DEMANDS of the year.   These demands are often the same as for the Transpower Transmission charges, and we can now assist our Customers to negotiate more reflective rates.

Some Line Companies have difficulty extracting half-hourly kVA from the kWh and kVARh readings, and they use an arbitory Power Factor figure of say 0.9pf.  On a large site with Power Factor Correction this can lead to inaccurate Line charges being levied.  We are able to extract half-hourly kVA and half-hourly Power Factor from metering data to use in these negotiations.

In addition to the difficulty in extracting these kVA Demands from half-hourly data, Network Companies often penalise Customers who set up their Peak kVA Demand at Off-Peak times.  They often charge all Customers using THE SAME basic formula regardless of the "time of day" or "time of year" of the site Maximum Demand.  Loads like refrigeration who may  also be able to Load Manage to avoid high Energy Costs, will pay more than THEIR share of peak time NETWORK costs.

We can analyse your site load profile and compare it to the Network Companies method of charging.  If this is not compatible we can Negotiate alterations to a Customers Line Contract to make the method of charging fairer for individual sites.
